Artist Bio/Statement
Andrea creates paintings suggestive of dreams and the abstract reality woven within them. Her work has been featured in many exhibitions along the east coast including Washington D.C. and Philadelphia, as well as galleries in North Carolina, New York, and now Arizona. Raised on the East Coast, Andrea graduated from East Carolina University with a concentration in Illustration. The next several years took her to Washington, D.C. and then New York, NY where she pursued her passion for oil painting. Andrea recently made Tucson home base for her fantastical creations and finds inspiration within the newly exotic landscape where desert and mountains merge.
Patterns, portraits, and figures are frequently the focal point within Andrea’s surreal paintings, woven together as an indescribable narrative, evocative of the abstract nature of ancient mythology and dreams. Andrea considers herself an idiosyncratic surrealist, as she finds herself and her work constantly evolving and pushing new boundaries as they emerge.
